Mark the good thing about Fraser is that because it's so popular there's always going to be someone around to pull you out of trouble even when you're travelling on your own, So it's not a bad place to learn about sand IMO.

    Cheers

Thanks James. That's reassuring but i would be heading out with another car anyway. The other Fraser thread for the April trip has got me tempted now ...

In my experience the softer parts are places like Indian Head, some of the inland tracks when they are chopped up and even the cutting at inskip point on to the beach. You're 90 with a 2inch lift will have no trouble at all on Fraser.

I've only had the 90 for a few months now and is my first fourby, so I wanted to get some experience under the belt before going there.
So far in the short time I've had the 90, I've been to Kinkuna, Teewah and recently Bribie Island. I think I'm getting the hang of things.

I'd be with a mate with a Hilux, but do you guys have any tips when on Fraser? We have some recovery gear and always adjust tyre pressures accordingly. I always do a pre trip service before trips too.
          Mark,
Your prado will be fine. My input is lower your tyre pressures and keep up the momentum in the soft stuff.
Carry a shovel, maxtrax, snatch strap and a couple of shackels and all will be peachy in your world. Plenty of people over there, so if you are unsure, watch some of the others to see how they tackle certain sections to see what works.
We will be over there in 4 weeks time.
          Cheers
