  • Jenolan State Forest Trip (NSW) - 27 Jan 08

IT'S BACK ON! (After being cancelled last weekend due to rain).

I am running a day trip through Jenolan State Forest on 27 Jan.

Anyone interested please let me know - meet at my place at Clarence at 08:30 for 09:00 departure.

    See http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/b...ett/A-TMap.jpg for map.

There is an interesting circuit I have done a number of times that takes in a couple of minor creek crossings and some steep up and down hill sections, some of which are now badly rutted.

An experienced driver in a Prado with standard clearance and tyres will do the trip OK, provided care and some judicial wheel placement is used - except if it is wet, in which case the trip will be cancelled as I don't believe in unnecessarily damaging tracks.

Grade 3 Trip - see http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/b...ackGrading.jpg for gradings.

    Participants at 1150 Sat:

    120GXV6 - Prado
    Craig - Prado
    PAL001 - Prado
    BATriton - Triton

Paul 1 - Prado (Non PP)
Paul 2 - Prado (Non PP)
    Lee - Triton (Non PP)
    Phil - Hilux (Non PP)

Looks like we got ourselves a convoy!

      Matt,
That is a great drive especially back up from the river where you turn right at the fork and go back downward again
Last time I drove it, they were maintaining the 6 foot track section, but nothing else. It will be carved up after this rain and might be difficult for inexperienced drivers. I would exercise some caution if anyone with a lack of experience gets over brave
Might see if we can tag along, it is a good day run and certainly a good way to prepare for a new Kaymar rear bar

      Cheers
      Glen

Hey everyone - remember me?!? My new boss is a tyrant and won't let me out of my cage to use pradopoint, so it's been a while between posts! No - just kidding - some of you know what I'm talking about. :P

I'm in for this trip. I've just got my 120 back after having the diff completely stripped and rebuilt. It's a long story. I'll post about it soon.

Hope to see you all on Saturday.

              Cheers,

              Drew.

                      I do, I do ....

Have you seen how many WA Pradopoint trips we're having .... and the mobs of Prado owners we're getting to them.

Sixteen vehicles on one trip ... now that got a little tight ....

We almost need a bigger state !  Is anyone using SA and NT ?? ... maybe we'll just move the border over

                      Cheers

                            Ok,

Not too many PradoPointers confirmed for this trip....yet.

Here is the roll call so far:

                            120GXV6 - Prado
                            Drew - Prado
                            BAtriton - Triton
                            Lee - Triton
                            Seb - Bravo
                            ( edit 17/01/08 )
                            PAL001 - Prado
                            PAL001s ring in - 80 Series
                            ( edit 18/01/08 )
                            Brissy4me - Prado

Don't be scared by Matthews description of the trip, we did this drive a few months ago and my stock height Triton only hit its front diff bash plate once!
Its a good fun drive with plenty of cross axle action.
