Carnarvon NP Mt Moffat section - campground choice?

Planning to visit the Mt Moffat section of Carnarvon National Park around June/July.

Any comments regarding which campground to book?

Leaning toward West Branch at this stage...

Dargonelly Rock Hole is nice and central to the attractions - similar to West Branch in terms of flat grassy campsites and aspect

Keen to read what people think..... I was last there back in '98 and loved the place..... thinking of returning there in the near future

We camped at West Branch Easter 2010 and had a ball, Toilet in the grounds, water taps etc and flat, large and well maintained. There were about 10 vehicles and besides another Pajero didn't see another vehicle over the 4 days we were out there.

Dargonelly rocks was a bit smaller but had the same set of features including a creek with water holes etc behind it.

We are camping at the Rotary shed up on the hill this Easter with a smaller set of vehicles, great views just a little more out of the way.

Interestingly Lonsome National Park, KaKaMundi and Salvator Rosa are also great choices all surrounding Carvarvon Gorge. We did a few nights at each on another trip which finished at Takaraka

How far can u take a "lifted" caravan into the park and what would the best spot to stop at with the van?

How far can u take a "lifted" caravan into the park and what would the best spot to stop at with the van?

Dargonelly would probably be best as the track into West Branch can be rough in places.

I ended up booking at West Branch. Will be there in June, and we're looking forward to it.
