Beer is a must, hot and humid over Easter and the XXXX Gold Cans were going down a treat!!
Oh by the way fuel prices (sorry forgot that) $2.15 at Cathedrals...not sure about elsewhere...it was $1.98 at Eurong whgen I was there in October last year.
AND
Fill up BEFORE you get to Rainbow Beach, cheaper on the way between Gympie and Rainbow than at Rainbow itself
Oh and one last thing,
An excellent ($12.00) Underbody Car Wash is available when you are coming back into Rainbow, instead of turning left at the roundabout go straight ahead, worth every cent IMO150 Silver Diesel GXL Auto with ECB Bullbar, Toyota Factory towbar, Black Widow Drawer system with Fridge slide and cargo barrier, GME UHF 3340 Radio, Waeco 50 Litre Fridge, Rhino Racks and Rhino Basket, ARB Awning, IPF XS Spotties, ABR Sidewinder Dual Battery system,Airtec Snorkel, Bilstien Shockies, King Springs, Poly Airbags and BFG A/T''s. Now towing a semi offroad Lotus Freelander 18.6 Van, with all the bells and whistles.

Thanks Mark for some great advice, well except for the xxxx cans!! The water in Eli has more taste! These boys seem to be mainly spirit drinkers!Originally posted by Mark from Brisbane View PostBeer is a must, hot and humid over Easter and the XXXX Gold Cans were going down a treat!!

For 2 of us it might be 8 days till departure :-)Originally posted by Shan View Post2 more weeks to go now...
still got lot of things to get done before...
Long days for me until then
Imaging how long Josh's days are, trying to run a business and setting it up to keep it going while away.
Plus getting car & camping gear ready for a family of camping for the first time, (no caravan)
Plus make a couple sets of custom drawers.
Plus an afternoon evening to ARB.
Plus a half day in wombat? - for a rest!
Sounds like 4 weeks work in 10 days?
I'm sure I missed something, being hubby & a dad etc
In comparison, I'm ready to go lol.......

Well i just got home after 4 days up there. Let me just say that all the tracks and beaches are fine. Yes some sand is gone but there's nothing to worry about at all. We were staying on the western side at Kingfishers so we were using the inland tracks to get to eastern beaches and to lake McKenzies, and be honest i think a hyundai excel could do most of the tracks.
I went for a drive right up to the northern tip and then around to the lighthouse and there was only one spot which was a short very steep 15m beach access point from Marloo to Orchid Beach township that a landcruiser destroyed by getting stuck there and having no idea of what to do so they just sat there and dug holes lol. It was the only time i locked the center lock. I was on 20psi the whole time without issue.
I'll give some more details a bit later but now im going for a nanna nap.
Cheers
James.

Heard from a work colleague who was up there last week there was a Hilux upside down in the sand with Police tape around it that the tide had been through a couple of times, how on earth do people get themselves in that situation?

Anders maybe you can leave the blkd4d at home and take Sheree's car would be much more fuel efficient on the way up! It also appears your plan may come off and we get to the tip?..Originally posted by jss View Postand be honest i think a hyundai excel could do most of the tracks.
