Had a great day on the trails today
Just enough slip and slide to keep the participants on their toes!!
Here's a quick 'poser' pic from today.

There's no such thing as a wrong turn... it's just the scenic route!

Well what a great day!
There were a couple of "hairy" moments going down those rather steep tracks, but it all added to the excitement of the day.
A big thanks to Fozzy for leading the way, and thanks for having me along. It was great to meet every one!
Looking forward to the 2nd instalment of these tracks in a few weeks time.
A few pics...
Top of the 1st big dipper (it is steeper than it looks)
Bottom of the 2nd big dipper,
Bit of mud on the Prado,
Airing up after a great day on the tracks
Sorry about the photo quality of the iPhone as I forgot the bloody camera!!
Thanks again for a great day!!
Cheers,

Well, this was my first outing with the PP crew and it was a great Day.... Got to meet some nice like-minded people and enjoyed the day.... Just got to try and remember people's names and match their forum names.....which is going to be a bit hard as I forgot to ask what people's forum name was...
I got to know the following: Fozzy (Dave); Brains (Paul); Snaga (Leon); Richo (not sure 1st name); Macaroon1 (Charles); CraigM (Craig); Bia 88 (Bia?); Brett1979 (Brett); Jeffers (Jeff & Julie?); David The Viking (Not sure I got meet Dave?) -- (forgive me if I got anyones name wrong...)
For me this trip I had done a many times b4 in my Zook, but this time taking the Prado gave me a different perspective, especially in the wet/muddy conditions..... The car performed w/o any issues even with A/T tyres, but it got me thinking about a different tyre choice when these ones wear out.... The road back down 10-mile rd was one I hadn't gotten around to doing which was good as I was able to get some waypoints for the side tracks for a future explore day
Anyhow, here's some pics of the day with a map of where we went.....
One muddy downhill section:
Bia's nicely setup Prado with the right tyres for the conditions....

Thanks one and all for a great day out. We had rock-strewn inclines, muddy descents where you just tramlined in the ruts, awesome rainforest along with open woodland and as far as I know, only one real bit of damage to a vehicle with Craig unfortunate enough to have a branch pierce a CV boot. Hopefully easy to fix and no longterm damage.
The slow going initially put paid to any exploring later in the day, so we'll do part two in a month or so.
No pics from my part, too busy scrambling up impossibly slippery slopes on foot trying to make sure that everyone was shown the right lines down the hills.
Cheers,

Firstly Fozzy I have to say thanks for leading us on this adventure, not only did you have a great route planned but some interesting information to go with it. I thoroughly enjoy these day trips and look forward to Part 2.
Here are my photos from the day. As usual you never take enough.
Here is my vehicle in the creek at the bottom of the 2nd slippery slope.
And here are some of the beautiful things this great country of our has to offer.

Jeffers in the creek after a slide down on the Grandtrek AT22's, he'll be upgrading soon maybe, then a bullbar, winch, and full length rack. That list is getting longer especially with an upcoming trip to the Cape!

Snaga after a slide towards the creek.
