  • Vic trip report: Tallarook(with an L plater)

Headed out today with a friend and family to Tallarook. Us in the Prado and them in the petrol 100 series.
Was a great day out and Jess racked up a stack of hours towards her learners requirements.
They now have to tick the roads and conditions on the log book.
    Freeway tick
    Rural tick
    dirt road tick
    Wet tick
low range not an option :-(
We did down Tehans 6 and up Tehans 5.
Looked at Rocky track but will save that for next trip.
Then had lunch at Freemans camp after at trip up Mt Hickey.
After that seeing the gates were open, Wheelers Freeman, Loops No2, No1, Falls Ck Rd
Back along Reservoir Rd from Army to steep tk then back to Army and home.

Was a great day our. After Christmas and Cobaw with Anthony and Anders was alot more confident in our ability and the cars.
Will definitely tackle Rocky Trk next trip.
Kids were a bit disapointed there was not more mud as there was over winter. Oh well another trip shucks.

The 100 serioes was also an auto and boy that beast goes well. just crawled up and over everything thrown at it.
I know our traction control was working hard a few times. Still I'll stick with the Prado. Now for that lift to stop just catching the underneath and side steps :-)

I feel 4wding is a gret way for new drivers to learn car control, wheel placement and the sheer size of the vehicle and how to manouver it. Especially going slowly in low range.

Hey Chris, sounds like you had a good day.
I know someone can help you with that suspension lift
Tulla is a good fun spot, be carefull there particularly in the wet it can be very slippery.
Then you might find yourself going down a one way track, there are a few there difficult and extreme.
The teehans you are ok, and rocky isn't too bad either.

Hopefully we will catch up after our the Fraser trip.
