koombaloomba tropical north queensland

cairns prado point boys went on a exploration trip to a place called koombaloomba.
here there is great camping areas, fishing for barra red claw and souties... the water is crystal clear and very family friendly...
myself and kevin only explored a couple of tracks and found some awsome off road tracks...
its about 2 and half hours west of cairns and a not so frequented area...
so if your up this way or your a cairns prado driver lets hit it again...

Great Pics Joey - I am still waiting for my GXL D4D Prado Auto. It arrives in March and 1st trip is down to Canberra and surrounds. 2nd trip will be up north. Looks like a great place to visit on the way upto the Cape.

Did you manage to straighten out the underside of your car before heading back? After a wash down I noticed that I have a couple of light scratches that run the length of the car on both sides.

yes i straightend the bash plate and re fitted the rego...

went and bought a new nav system as well ... tom tom really good...

i to have scratches but nothing polish wont remove.... i have some beauties on there....
imageine if we went there now how much mud and slippery tracks there would be.......i took me one hour to gurney the mud out....

im back here in png now so have the first day blues.. :cry:

its a out of the way place so most people go to tinnaro...

i have only scatched the surface at koombaloomba..would be plenty of water and mud there right now, and im stuck in png. dam!

beautiful rainforest tracks , 400m gorges, rivers waterfalls, all types of terrain , has a bit of every thing for camping and off road driving and best of all as the thread has said its quiet and not greatly used... really only get to most places in 4x4.....

im heading there when i get out of png next week for a few days camping(depending on cyclones and monsoon trough) and will post more photos, then you will definetly put on your list of places to visit. :lol: :lol:
