I am trying to edit some video that we took of the day. Classic stuff.
But as I'm new to this stuff it will just have to wait a little bit till I get something to post.
On another note, as I left a little earlier than the rest of you, did you guys come across the accident scene on the road out of the dam.
I dont know if you guys came out the tar road that we came in on but thats where it was.
I assisted as best I could, ambulance was allready there and they had all ready cut a woman out of the car, Read the news today and she didnt survive.
please every one, drive safe...
bit sad.
Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

I figured it was serious when the cops stopped me & said to drive very slow & focus on the road not the accident. Looks like they took the corner too fast judging by the chalk marks on the road. Ambulance had left but there were still about 8 cops. Lets hope next year, the road toll is drastically reduced. This year has been a real shocker.

Yeah, we saw it and heard the news. Didnt mention it cause I figured we all knew, didnt need to go over it again. It is just appalling to think they were out there the same time as us and their day ended so differently. Whatever the cause it is just a real awakening no matter how many you see like that, every time just makes you slow down that little bit more.
Here is my first attemp at editing video.
Used a free download of corel ulead.
It converts to wmv for sharing on the web, and thats when it loses clarity, even on the "best" setting, so dont know if there is better programs out there. any sugestions welcome.

I know nothing about video hosting but I notice Russ's are on http://youtube.com/ but like I said, I'm a novice. Your's looks really good Jeff but I do see what you meen about pixelation etc! Top work though!
OK , the pixelation has stripped a bit of quality out of it ... but you got a heap of the fun bits of the day. Probably time to have a chat to Russ and see what he is using for his vids.
Loved it .... and its good to get some practice in before we get to Harvey   .... both in the winching and video camera
Sorry if I sounded at all negative Jeff. It is awesome. I was trying to give a suggestion but I just re-read what I put and it sounded awful.
Matt
Dont be silly.
I knew what you meant. But I dont think its the youtube/google video's fault.
I think its more to do with the initial software.
Might see what RussWA uses.
Russ???? How do you do it???
Jeffs.

U-tube compresses the video for you and allows you to send up to 100meg per video.
Russ
That might be the trick. In the program I had a free trial of I compressed it first. Ill see if I can send it with out compressing (and changing to wmv) first. Its a .vsp file. Wonder if u-tube accept that? Its what the sony HDD camera puts out, so I guess it would as a sony is not a rare thing
Ill have a play, when I get time.......
Thanks Russ.
