  • Camping at Coen

Doing some research for our Aug/Sep Cape trip. Has anyone stopped at "The Bend" campsite just north of Coen? Toilets are a major attraction for the ladies in our group. Cheers Jim

Yeah we stopped there on our Cape trip, I can't recall whether they had toilets or not. We had to cross the river to camp as it was pretty popular when we were there, so maybe there are toilets on the road side of the river not sure.

If you do cross the river be careful, its harder than it looks, my mate got stuck in it and filled up his 100 series with water, his missus was not very happy after that and was scared out of her wits for most of the rest of the trip.

I didn't have the same issues fortunately

Which disappointed a few onlookers waiting for more action. Some locals told us someone gets stuck in there nearly every day.

It was a nice camp spot.

    Cheers Andrew

There is also Charlies Mine Camp, Just south of Coen.
About $5 per adult- toilets, hot shower and some grass for a little bit of Glamping.
We did not discover The Bend until the next morning but it looked very nice also.
      Cheers
