Perth Day trip August 10th 2013

    Perth Day trip August 10th 2013

    We have decided its time to go bush and see a bit more of the country so we are heading off for 6 weeks up through the centre, across the Gunbarell and on up to the Pilbara, Rudall River and bum around for a few weeks up there. Then follow the coast back down to Perth.

    So when in Perth it would be great to catch up with a few PPers and put some faces to names. The plan is for us to lob in Perth on probably Thursday the 8th, bit unsure but the Prado may need a service (any suggestions as to where?) so get that done on the Friday if needed and then a catch up with some of you guys, Friday night and or Saturday if possible.

    Not fussed on what we do, social gathering, go out for a meal, do a day trip, whatever everyone thinks. The only other time I have been to Perth was 20 years ago and we hired a Sigma station wagon for our travels, so I would be in your hands as to what is a good place to go. Saturday evening or Sunday we will probably start to head for home, hoping for a relaxed trip home and heading for Wave rock as our first point of interest.

          Thanks for that, if it needs doing it will be the 80k service so a big one! I reckon I'll be 1000 - 1500 k short of needing the service in Perth, but 2700k from there to home, if I can get hime with under 81k on the clock I will leave it till home and get my local guy to do it............ Have to wait and see how many wrong turns we make and how many K we actually do!

          Powerlines sounds like the go to place in Perth, from my very minimal research seems like it is in the direction of home as well, so could be a good option.

            I have recovery points on the camper, so I guess I could leave that hooked up and tow his Nissan through at the same time

              Get some Patrols with 35's to "bed in the tracks for AJ". Junior MLC will snatch him out. I sent him footage of me snatching AJ out of trouble on at least 2 previous occasions....

                  I'll be in for the day trip. Considering I haven't done Powerline in the Prado I'm looking forward to it. Oh, and it'll be good to meet you as well AJ :-)

                  Im not Bogged - I've just lost traction. . . . . and now I'm showing the wife why I bought those Maxtrax, and the tyre deflator, and the compressor, and the bullbar, and the winch, and a lot of other goodies I've hidden in the Prado

                          Keep us posted where you're at AJ. I'm travelling 8/6 - 25/7 doing a big loop Kal - Alice - Darwin - Kimberley -Pilbara - Meeka - Kal.

                            We may well cross paths in the Pilbara, I'll try and find your email address and send you a copy of our itinerary, which is sort of done.
