  • Trip for darwin pp's

hi im new to the forum and as you can see im a lurker but would like to try organise a trip to one of the 4wd tracks at litchfeild np, mary river np or Kakadu to meet some of the pp's from Darwin and anyone that is up on holidays.
Personally I would like to do the mary river np track as the track follows the marry rv and comes out near shady camp then theres another track that takes you out to point stuart.

Please comment with dates of availability, what tracks you prefer, if you have done them before then we can try organise a trip to one of these np's
    4wd tracks:-)

Mate Welcome to Prado point. I am good to go for any weekend. As it has been years since I have done any off roading I am keen for any trip.
I am also trying to get a trip set up for the long weekends coming up.

I'll be up there around then - I will keep an eye out for your final dates. Might tag along with my back-up in his Hyundai though.

I might be in for the 22-23rd June. The misus is working that weekend so it would be me and my 2 girls (3 and 5). Would only be looking at a day trip (unless you can REALLY convince me, then I would be towing my camper). I've done Hardies 4wd track but the Wildman 4wd track was closed so couldn't do that. Been down to point stuart as well, that track is very easy and could be driven in a Yaris. However all those tracks are still closed for some reason, not sure when they are likely to open, but I would hope that point stuart and Hardies would be open by the 22-23rd. Apart from that, there are tracks around Adelaide River, or the Reynolds river track from Litchfield to the Daly river road. Let us know what you want to do and when.
            Cheers,
            Stuey

So from the interest there is it sounds like the 22-23 is a good weekend for a trip I'm hoping to have my snorkel on by then I'm pretty easy with what tracks we do I've just had a look at road report and only the Reynolds is shut still I haven't done much exploring around Adelaide river so that could be an idea as a good day trip if use are still keen. Let us know what your thoughts are about a meeting point and time.

There is a good track off Dorat Rd Adelaide River. Its about 11km from Stuart Hwy just before Robin Falls on your right.

                  http://maps.google.com.au/maps?q=Dor...+0846&t=h&z=17

Its the track just below the number 23 and you follow it around to the left up to a comms tower. The track goes for about 20km or so. The track has some minor creek crossings, sandy tracks, rocky tracks and some really good views. I have done the track with stock tyres and no lift on my Prado and also did it this year about 2 months ago.

I am also waiting on the Reynolds track to open. I do a lot of short trips (2-4hrs) around Darwin. I go to Micket Creek off McMillans Rd Knuckys Lagoon and Telstra Hill off Berrimah Rd. If anyone wants to do a shake out (test equipment etc) on the Saturday 22nd Jun and then go for a trip on the Sunday 23rd Jun I am open for that. It would be in the Darwin area, most likely Telstra Hill.

this trip is the time i'm at work, just have too wait till one of these trips lines up with my week off.
those tracks around Adelaide River are fun and there are a couple harder tracks as well in the area.

                            Cheers Derek

At this stage 10am Sat at Adelaide River BP suits me. Just confirm before date that it is going to happen. An alternative for Darwinites would be to leave from United Coolalinga at 9am and travel down to adl rv in convoy.
