Just seen this thread. Best of luck with the trip I'm sure your going to have a blast. We too are starting our planning for a trip away from the rat race. We have found Steve and his family from expeditionaustralia.com.au and their filmed docco The Big Lap, of them traveling around Aus a good resource and inspiration to take the plunge.
