Yeah ... thanks for the pic Mitch .... great muddies work really well .... when they actually touch the ground. Unfortunately, on this little bump, the only thing touching the ground is the chassis ... all four wheels are up in the air ops: ops:

Its not the same if we go on a trip and no-one gets stuck .... and I look upon it as my duty to provide some recovery training on each trip .... Hence, I had to deliberately get stuck to give everyone the opportunity to witness a safe recovery. Its all part of the service. (That's my story and I'm sticking to it !)

Once again ... a great day out. Thanks to Russ & Jen, Gary & Helen, Mitch & Tammy, Steve & Sandra, Marty, Fishnut & Deb and Mototrim for coming along and making it so much fun ..... even though we left Russ and Gary's families out there in the bush   .... its alright .. they were camping out there overnight

Mumsrig climbing out of a rut.

Gary chooses to stay in the rut.

    Fishnut climbing out.

    Steve goes around.

    Mototrim takes a small detour.

    Marty ploughs on through.

I figured my bus looked so good with a set of muddies on that it deserved its own sequence

    Russ takes on the rocks.

    Mumsrig on the way around.

    So is Gary.

Mrs Fishnut picks her line among the rocks.

    Steve picks his line.

Mototrim pushes a button on the Grande and it climbs down the hill by itself.

Marty takes on the lumpy bits.

    Creative parking.

A beautiful scenic drive with a small bridge over a creek ... Russ is up first.

    Followed by Mumsrig

    Then Gary ...

    ... and Fishnut.

Gary climbs up through a little canyon.

    Russ follows him up.

Just for art lovers ... here's a bit of floral art. Did you know .. Tammy's fav colour is pink.

    The line-up.

    Russ.

    Steve.

    The road ahead.

    Fishnut on the trail.

Mumsrig shows how to detour around a fallen tree.

Marty detouring around the same tree.

Another shot of the trail ... notice the stub where there used to be an aerial. A thieving tree decided to leap out in front of the car and nick it

The whole area was really dry .... so no mud ..... but it was a perfect little run for some standard suspension.

All the girls spent time behind the wheel .... with Deb and Tammy doing the lion's share of the driving ... and doing a great job of it.

I wound up kicking Bek out of the driver's seat .... I don't navigate anywhere near as well as she does .... I'd only been in the chair for a minute and we'd made three wrong turns ops: ops:

I'm looking forward to someone else leading a trip .... then Bek can drive and I can just sit back and relax

    Cheers
    Chippy

Have a look at this thread Steve. It goes into a fair bit of detail about how to host your pics on a free Photobucket account, how to resize them to keep the forum Moderators happy  and how to wrap the links in tags to display them in your posts. Have fun mate.

                      still playing with photos but..............

just a short piece of advice for those that was lucky enough to be chewing chippy`s dust, we have been cleaning the bus this arvo and upon checking the air cleaner was quite surprised at how choked it was and the vacuator vlave in the housing is or was blocked. simple to clean with a wash.
The air cleaner doesnt seal too well in the housing and the engine has sucked some dust through.

so please check and clean people. I will be sourcing a replacement air cleaner element in the morning.

chippy when can we fit the snorkel

                      Photos sooooooon to follow.

                      Cheers

Well great photos Chippy and Mototrim,
Mine are much the same so I'll post them later.
We had a great day and even better night.
What a fantastic camp ground.Fishnuts if you go there next week-end make sure you get a marron license as they are everywhere.
The little buggers will nip your toes if you don't watch them.

We went from there to Hoffmans Mill(Great camp ground for future Prado piont gathering)Big area, clean and fires allowed.

Then we checked out Logue Brook Dam.Again another great 4wd place and will be closed soon due to Govt. claiming back the dam.
Another over night camp area for the future.
                        See you soon
                        Russ

I said that way and don't laugh at me!!!!!!

Yep .. I reckon Bek was born upside down ... she can read maps and navigate through just about anywhere ......

Life's much easier when I drive and Bek navigates ... I'm used to being told where to go .... and I just nod and say, "Yes Dear"
