FJ is great but GVM is an issue for trips like the Simpson. Used about 120lt of petrol Birdsville to Mt Dare.
Ok, I now drive an FJ Cruiser but did have an 90 series Prado for 11 years and before that, 4Runners from 1985.

Go for it D4D! But you may be surprised what it leads to - we took my 84 year old great uncle across the Simpson last year, gave him a drive, he camped in his own tent, the whole shebang. He loved it despite the cold nights and gastro at Dalhousie from some dodgy tinned fish he brought along and he last week walked into a dealer and drove out with a new Triton. He's already started decking it out with the intention of doing some serious trips both with us and alone including Googs track, Birdsville and the cape! We've got a few concerns about it but he's happy and at his age I'm not going to tell him how to spend his time and money.
I did ask him to take good care of it for me
      Cheers, Ben.

Well done - great to see the Simpson again. It looks like pretty much the same route we took. You did well with fuel. We used 116L Diesel.

Great video and I liked the soundtrack too. I can't wait to do the Simpson one day. I was wondering what the other tracks besides the French Line would be like. The QAA and WAA looked really good. Eyre Creek looked like a top spot to camp for a couple of days during the trip to soak it all up and take in the surroundings.

really enjoyed that. Like others have said it brings back memories of our west - east Rig Rd crossing last year though we towed a CT. Some of the eastern dunes looked challenging.

                                HI All,

Great Video. I saw more on the state of the tracks in 10 mins, than watching Your 4x4 on Monday Nights.

What Camera were you using? and What Format?

                                Please advise
