Hey all

Im heading off to Kalbarri for my 25th, does anyone know of any good 4x4 tracks around the area.....don't have to be hardcore offroading, just off the road hahahahaha.

I think the only areas are south towards Wagoe beach , i think inland is all national parks not sure of access there and you cant get over the river except at the station on the way in from memory

try out Murchison offroad adventure park for the day...looks awesome!

flat rocks - if your in kalbarri drive along the main road that runs along the murchison with the river on your left hand side just keep going you will hit a dirt road just keep following it

Last time I was in Kalbarri . You needed a 4wd just to get to the gorges as the roads were very corrugated. We drove around exploring at the north side of town past the caravan park and found a few little tracks but nothing to speak of. All gravel road stuff. I think the magic of Kalbarri is the gorges ,take some time and walk down into the river near the natures window .Very spectacular . Cheers Russ

Lucky Bay just south of Kalbarri is definitely worth going to. Not sure what it will be like this time of year though.

also if you are going to head out to murchison off road, might pay to call ahead. we went and drove all the way out there only to find that they were closed.
it did look like fun though.

Don't wash your car before you go there though. it will get a nice shade of red

The road into Kalbarri NP to natures window is heavily corrugated when me and the missus drove in for her to have alook (my second look)
November last year,if your lucky they've graded it.

Road to kalbarri NP was closed about a month ago and has graders on it. Looked like quite a bit of work going on there.

First time I went up there it was 4WD only to all ocean and river gorges but then again I am talking nearly 40 years ago!!!
Can't help with current conditions as it was 10 years since last there and the gravel tracks to the river gorges were absolutely bloody terrible.... Corrugations shook the absolute $h!te out of the BA Falcon. But then again it was a company vehicle

Will be watching this thread for ideas as we are hoping to get back up that way again sometime early next year. The scenery and fishing is next to nothing else.

Not much for 4WDs around Kalbarri.

You need a 4WD if you want to drive onto wittecarra beach.

As previoulsy mentioned Lucky Bay. You drive along the beach to get to Wagoe. To use the beach access at Wagoe you need to stay there.

I didn't think much of lucky bay when we called through there. Little bay down near Horrocks was much nicer.
