Darling River Run in October

Hi Guys,

Anyone done this or been near sections of it lately? I did it this exact time last year and i'd like to do it again early October as a "quick" easy/relaxed outback trip with a few mates since last time was way too rush but what a great trip.

I'd be interested to hear what the roads are like, rough, graded etc. Tempted to do a run to Cameron corner again (like last time, unplanned), but then i'll be tempted to run through the Strzelecki again then to the dig tree and so on!!! The trip will just be too rushed not to mention the heat at the moment!

Which side of the river did you do last time? The West side of the River is generally slower and less maintained but a much better drive IMO!

Cant help with recent conditions, been a couple of years since we did it last.

We done the run at easter, we drove mainly the east road. But went on the west to menindee. The roads were getting graded when we were there but that's a while back now. Drop into kidmans camp at Bourke on a Sunday if possible, they put on a feed and campfire with a local bloke rattling off a few yarns about the darling.

Thanks guys, last time i did the east side. West sounds good! unfortunately the two blokes I was going with have pulled the pin. If anyone else is keen let me know would rather not travel on my lonesome.

Ide love to go again but work will get upset if i took another 2 weeks off and then take 8 off next year to do cape hahaha. But definatly look up kidmans camp hey, bloody good spot.
