Myall Lakes

Anyone explored the Myall Lakes region to see what it is like for 4X4ing? I have often wondered what it would be like over there, I look at it enough from my computer room here in Corlette.

Next year I might invest in a boat big enough to overnight in and go up there via Tea Gardens.

You used to be able to do quite a bit and the road between mungo brush and Sand Bar was rather interesting in the wet.

Though i have heard a lot of it has been locked out. The road was re-done and graded properly a few years ago, yet strangely it was also locked out after the works had been carried out

Seems to be the story alround Australia. NPWS have chained off just about all the tracks around Alice in the last few years.
