• Lamington NP(O'reilly's) via Darlington Park and Duck Ck Rd

Being school holidays and getting tired of hearing "I'm bored, what are we going to do" over and over, the missus & I decided to take the family for a bit of a drive. Destination was decided to go to O'Rielly's Lookout/Resort via Duck Creek Rd. On the way we called into to see Darlington Park for morning tea and let the kids have a bit of a run around. Darlington Park looks to be a great place for family camping and it didn't seem to overly full considering its School holidays.Just wondering how FULL this place gets during the Easter & Christmas Holiday periods ?? Do u need to Pre-book ??The drive up Duck Creek road hasn't changed too much from about 5yrs ago since we last travelled along it except for more land being split up and sold off. Seem like a quick drive up to O'Riellys as well compared to the slow windy bitumen road we took heading down.
cheers..... Rob (macca)

I stayed at Darlington Park the weekend of the Redlands Ekka Day (a Monday so it's a long weekend) in August and it was very busy, I believe that it is first in first served, but it is a nice area to camp, unfortunately there isn't much 4BYing around there, there is another area a little further down the road called Stinson Park on Christmas Ck Rd which is also nice, can be booked but is reuglated camping in designated sites. Another is Burgess Park on Christmas Ck Rd and run by the same paople that run Darlington Park, it is much smaller but a nice spot as well.

See ya on the tracks, Richo.
