  • Still a novice but!

Undertook my first real trek off-road today. Canberra to the summit of Mt Coree (3rd highest mountain the ACT), to the Gudgenby-Flea Creek confluence, and up the Brindebella valley before turning for home.

Mount Coree - yes to can drive to the summit. That is a fire tower. 1408 metres.

With my daughter at the trig station. At 1bout 11am it was 12 degrees - where as down below it was over 20.

There will be more of this I can tell you. Was guided by my BIL in his 4WD. Learned a lot from him and also about how capable the Prado is.

Good to see you using your Prado to do what it does best... getting out and doing it in style. I look forward to your future trip reports as you become more adventurous.

Well done for getting out there! Yes the Prado is surprisingly capable in the bush.

Some great country there GreyOldFart. Nice picks ..... keep taking plenty of them. Great to see someone else making adventures in my old favourite family 4x4 playground. You missed a tonne of great tracks during your travels ....... it's a shame that you will have to go back again to find them :-)
