Border track for the cup weekend 2013

We were planning to travel the border track again but this time over the cup weekend.

Looking at the NP website the track is closed from 31 October.

Does this mean we can drive around and if so what are we missing or getting in place of the 30km of track that is closed.

You can go around via the centre track from pine hut soak, it's much the same except the dunes are much smaller on the centre track.
