  • NSW: Baal Bone Gap & Newnes SF, Saturday 23rd November

Starting near Ben Bullen we'll head through Baal Bone Gap and over to Newnes. Baal Bone Gap may be a little wet and muddy but I don't expect the conditions to be too bad, apart from one large rock step up which can be seen on YouTube videos. Newnes will be a casual exploration.

Please read the following disclaimer if you wish to participate on this trip. If you choose not to accept the terms & conditions therein, you are requested not to attend.

    Track Difficulty:
Easy to medium, with hard options.

Meeting at: McDonalds at Richmond, cnr of March & Eastmarket Sts. at 8:30am, departing around 8:45 am http://maps.google.com.au/maps?hl=en&bi ... CBoQnwIwAA

Finishing time is flexible; if you want to leave early it won't be a problem (but you may need to navigate your own way out). I usually finish around 5pm.

Bring: Prado, lunch, water/drinks, camera, air compressor/recovery gear if you have it, sense of adventure.

    UHF channel 28

We had a crack at Wattagan Creek Road last weekend from the Laguna end. It was an impromptu drive and without any recovery gear we decided to turn around about half way up as it got a little hairy for our liking - we were solo and no one knew we were out there. That and I got sick of getting out to check the depth of bog holes in the p1$$ing rain. The part we did was fun but it would have been a better with another vehicle to help if we got into trouble.

Trip was good and looooooong. I went to Macca's in the morning to meet my one other car, but who would have thought, ended up leading an 8 car convoy! They planned to travel through Sunny Corner State Forest and Turon River National Park, but could use my knowledge of the areas, so off we went!

                    Airing down at Sunny Corner:

                    Sunny Corner:

Almost tipping over on Jackass Hill (it got worse moments later but I stopped the camera - DOH!):

                    Being saved on Jackass Hill:

I have to ask... How many spare tyres does one really need?
