Hi Mike, from all reports there's plenty of room up the road and it's first in best dressed for sites so no need to book but I'll have a bit more of a look and try to figure out what it's called. I think there's still 2 available at Elliot falls though if you're not taking a camper.

No worries Mike, if you don't have the kids with you it'll be no big deal to go up the road whenever you feel like it so it shouldn't matter to you.

Hi Guys,

Just doing some groundwork for bookings etc.... Is everyone staying at Coconut Resort in Cairns? Also, how many night?

Have just spoken to Deborah at the Resort, cost for campsite is $44 per night for 2 adults and $15 per extra adult/child.

They require a $50 deposit for each booking.

Once I have an idea of numbers I will make a booking for myself and "hold" the required number of sites for you guys.

Once I have done that you can each call up and place deposit for your own booking, this enables us to hopefully camp nearby each other rather than spread across the resort.

So Tiny and I will be staying 24th and 25th June, please post up or PM me what your plans are.

No need to book Lions Den Hotel, plenty of unpowered campsites.

Cost $12 per adult per night, 6 - 14 year olds are $6 and under 6s are free.

I've spoken to Patsy at Loyalty Beach Campground and booked in the 6 vehicles for 3rd to 6th July.

No deposit was required but will need to confirm this booking at least a week out.

Thanks for organising the Coconut resort bookings, I'm keen to catch up with you guys before we hit the road so please book me and my mate Mark in for both nights @ Coconut Resort for a powered site, I'm more than happy to put the deposit down once the sites are booked. I see that your also on the goldy, if you'd like to catch up before the trip just let me know, otherwise see you in Cairns...

I hope no one is hurt and building damage is minimal with Cyclone Ita. It's now category 5 and could really smash the tracks up. As I said I hope the residents and their properties all come out of this ok as that's the most important thing.

OK, I have just made the booking for our group for Cairns Coconut Resort..

For those coming, please call them on 07 4054 6644, tell them you are with the "Pradopoint group".

They need to know how many people you have per site ($44 for 2 adults, $15 for each other adult/child) and you need to pay a $50 deposit to confirm your booking. There is a 1.2% Credit Card fee if paying that way.

Could you please pay your deposit sometime in the next few days so we can keep the group together.

These are powered sites and there is also fresh water available for those needing to top up before we head off.

Check in is between 11am and 8pm, you need to call ahead if you arriving late.

Lets hope Cyclone Ita doesn't do too much damage up that way!!
