Caught up with Dan (DSS150) and headed for Cityview on the 4/5. Had a great day, though it was cold.
We went up the slippery slope track though it wasn't slippery lol. All the tracks where dry and then we followed the Goat Track which linked up with Shortcut Lane and headed straight up the mountain and had morning tea there, not before Dan had a couple of attempts getting through this section:-
The view up here was excellent.
After morning tea. we decided to head towards the play area, not before I had a bit of a scary moment. No posting of pics mate on here. Let's just say it took me 45 mins to recover before continuing on. Dan on the other hand had a crack at this after seeing a Cruiser easily get up this section. All wheel placement.
2012 Silver Altitude Prado T/D Auto, King Springs 2" Lift with 'H' Front Springs, Deluxe Color Coded ARB-Bull-Bar, Winch, Lightforce 240 XGT's HIDs, Safari Snorkel, Outback Ideas Recovery Points, ARB UBP, Cooper S/T Maxx, Hayman Reese Towbar, Dual Battery (Redarc 40amp BCDC), Sandgrabba Mats and Cargo Mat, UHF Ariel, Portable Uniden UHF Plugs Into Ariel, Mounted ARB Compressor, TG150, ARB Fridge/Freezer 60L.
From the play area we kept climbing and stumbled by accident across an extreme track. The Prado's climbed this hill easily with just traction control engaging briefly. If it was wet, you would think twice about attempting the climb. No pics sorry. By then it was closer to 1:00pm and decided to head to camp area 35 and have lunch. This was the highest peak of the park and my favourite spot.
After lunch we just kept exploring various other tracks and by 4:00pm we headed home. I wanted to quickly go to O'Reilly's via Duck Creek Road as my BIL was keen to go. It was his first time hitting the tracks with me and it was a real eye opener for him. Don't know if he will come back again lol. We decided to give O'Reilly's a miss this time.
A big thanks to Dan and his family for a great day out. Hope we have more takers next time guys. I managed to capture more video than pics.
