Fraser Island... Is this trip possible?

Yeah, I am going to Harvey Bay first (see family) and then go to DI, so I was looking at the more adventurous route, rather than the highway back down to DI. 4 days at DI and then driving down to Tewantin and back to the Goldy.

If your at Hervey, then that's a good idea, almost save fuel.
All you need to do is get to Hervey 2 days earlier, so u can spend a couple on Fraser, then its definately worth it!

The more time you can spend on the island, especially with the kids is definitely worth it.
We are going there this Xmas and plan on staying for a week. Anything less is a bit of a tease really.
There is sooooo much to see on the island, but Eli creek is where we will spend many hours when we are there.
It's so funny to see the tour buses turn up for only a few hours, then herd all of the cattle back onto the bus to rush down to the ferry.
Many of the people we spoke to who were only on the island for a day were pretty frustrated as it only gave them a small taste of the whole Frase experience, which is what it is designed for i guess.
When we told them that we were spending the whole day at Eli, they were so jealous. And so they should be, as its a great spot to spend the day.
If I were you you, I would plan another trip to the island with enough time to explore the many options, and give everyone a chance to enjoy it.

I love the place., just wish it was closer to Sydney...!
