    SEVEN HILLS CAIRNS

    Well recently i joined a cairns 4x4 club, and this weekend i went on my first outing....these are the guys from the various 4x4 shops and hard core 4x4 enthisiests.. to say my prado looked inferior to rigs with 4 inch lifts and that again in body lift was a understatment.... BUT YOU NOW WHAT ..THE PRADO KICKED BUTT!!!

    i did i must say got bogged lost 3 mud flaps and rear left flare.. but what place... ridiculously steep hills , over bonnet extended, water crossings and bog pits from hell....it was the most extreme drive ive done..

    here are a few photos...

    this was the recovery vehicle they brought along. 12 000 pound winch front and rear...

    my photo does not do these climbs justice but they were heavily rutted and extreme steep.. this is one of the 7 hills.... there are 6 more just like it!!!





    so all in all learnt a few new tricks , had the heart pound a bit faster and got the prado some respect from these hard core bunch of 4x4 fanatics

    Awesome pics Joey. Looks like you had a ball.

      Well done Joey, I am damn sure I would not have risked my new rig on that kind of terrain but you did and you enjoyed it which is the main thing. I hope the repair costs are not to exhorbitant. :wink:

        all good ..

        got the mud flaps on now ... gaffer taped the flare on till i got home and will replace plastic clips , and put a few screws underneath ...

          Looks the goods mate, wish I could've made it... Although I'm glad I didn't make it by the sounds of the damage! At least you now know the capabilities of the stilted Prado. Now it's time for the lockers!! 8)

            Looks a bit scary for an old fart like me. Anyway dont want to dent old bus as new one allegedly arrives at dealer on 8 April. Waiting,waiting.

                although the spot i went to on the day was gnarly as, there are heaps of tracks and alot easy on the prados.... really awsome country there and will be back soon for a more relaxed mission...

                        lockers are definately the go after seeing what they could do and my rig could not...

                        they have been bumped up the priority list....

                            Well done Joey,
                            You have certainly given the prado a decent workout, sorry to hear about the damage, but it goes with the territory.
