Based on the few brave souls who have put their hands up to venture into the fray   .... I'm thinking its time to find the entry point to Staples Line back again ..... but from the Northern End, behind Harvey, that Jeff led us to all those moons ago.
There is at least one water crossing ... and a way around it that we found last time ... and some really ugly ruts and angles.
The other consideration is the Mundaring Powerlines track and we can do that during the upcoming school holidays
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

If you're heading into Pinjarra from the North you enter town at the intersection of the Pinjarra-Williams Rd with the pub on the corner. You cross the bridge and drive through the centre of town to the only set of traffic lights at the intersection of Pinjarra Rd (to Mandurah). Keep going south (about 1 kay) until you see the High School on your left - turn right - there's a little set of shops on the corner. In behind the shops is a car park and a big new bakery building. Ya can't miss it.
If you get to the trotting track, on the southern edge of town, you've gone too far ops:
The bakery I think you are talking about is in peel st.
corner Peel and sth west hwy.
