  • SEQ daytrip... Monday 7th April... now a recce report

    Gidday all...

Well, the missus is flying to Sydney to visit a friend this weekend so what better excuse than that does one need for a day trip

Anyone interested in a half - 3/4 long daytrip this Sunday. (6th April 08 )
    Cheers, Leon

Saturday morning I was keen for, but unfortunately not Sunday.

Anyone able on Saturday, speak up. I was thinking of a quick run through Mt Mee and up Diff Break Hill again.

Let me know if anyone is keen. Cheers.

Hmm... we'll be in Brissie for a 1st birthday and New Farm Park. I wonder if they'll miss me for a few hours while I go to "get some drinks" :?:

I wouldn't mind a quick drive through Mt Mee but I think 2.30pm might be a little late in the afternoon. If you're keen, let me know and I'll definitely join you.

Unfortunately can't make it but I passed by that way after Easter to avoid the traffic and noticed they have put up a 'NO ACCESS' post and sign on diff break hill. Off limits now unless it's gone when you go up that way.

Yeah, there was actually. I headed out to Mt Mee by myself in the end. Basically did the same tracks as when we all went out last time, plus a few additional excursions - which were fun.

I did Diff Break Hill again a couple of times taking a different line each time. Definately a track for lockers now. The rain storm from a couple of weeks ago seemed to have washed it out considerably. I had a couple of times with wheels way up in the air crossing ruts, roots, and rocks. 8) Even doing the A Break track back to the bitumen I put the rear locker in once to get over a rocky hill section.

Quite a lot of fourby's out and about yesterday through there.

It was the first test for the new springs I put under the front a few weeks ago. When we all went out a couple of months ago I scrubbed the bash plates under the sump a few times. Put the higher and stiffer OME springs under now, and not one touch yesterday underneath. Proved to be a great investment.

Anyway, I had fun, even if no one else was able to come along at short notice. Maybe next time.
