Been a couple of months since we were up there so went for a drive and a swim this arvo.
Water was great. Lots of birds around so must have been lots of fish too. Should have taken the rod. The sand was a bit soft and powdery on the beach but we made it through easy as. Unlike some other clowns haha
Saw a little RAV4 drive past and then get stuck around the next headland and a Pajero went to give him a snatch. After about half an hour they finally dragged it back onto the high tide track. I have no idea why it took them so long. The sand wasn't too bad when we drove through afterwards.
Whilst the RAV4 was getting snatched a few young blokes in a ute with massive muddies on it got bogged just near us so we got to watch that too. They were parked up having a swim like us but when he went to leave he kept turning his wheels too sharply and bogged himself haha. He was only a couple of metres off the track on the high water line. Even Mrs Moth couldn't believe he got stuck there.
This time a Patrol was driving past first so he gave him a snatch back onto the track.
THEN the idiot drove straight back into where he was and got bogged again ha ha ha it was so funny. This time we went and helped as it was time for us to move on. Just got him to clear all the sand out from underneath and showed him how to use my Maxtrax. Which as we all know is the easy way out.
Once again as he got clear he turned his wheels too sharply to try and get back on the track(which at this stage was only half a metre away) and got stuck. I then had to show him what to do again. I couldn't believe it.
After that I told him to air his tyres down lower and get off the beach asap. He had no idea what he had done wrong.
Bit more driving around and got the Mrs to do some hill climbs and before we knew it we drove around a corner and there were a bunch of cops.
We had seen the RAC rescue chopper earlier but had forgotten all about it. Apparently some guys had been riding in the back of a ute and it braked suddenly on a dune and they went through the back window and knocked themselves out. The chopper took them off to Joondalup hospital. Unsure of how they are now.
The cops were still interviewing the driver when we went past. I guess he's gonna be in a fair bit of trouble.
We stopped on top of the biggest dune to cook dinner before we went home and had it all to ourselves. Kinda weird as there is normally heaps of people up there.
Did a few more hill climbs on the way back. Some nice bigger ones that I wouldn't have made it up before. So much easier with a locker for some reason 😃
Our quiet Sunday arvo drive ended up quite action packed but it was another good day out.
