  • Condamine River track with Grantreks 30% Tread?

"Had to" drive through some salt water on the weekend . I have been giving the car the sprinkler treatment and high pressure for the last few days. I was thinking about a trip out to the Condamine river track anyway, so though I might make it this weekend to get a little more fresh water under the car. Any idea on what the water level is like out there at the moment, and if the track is easily done with the standard tyres? Thanks

Unsure about the road conditions at present but the water levels look like they have subsided and should be fine. The track should be easily done with standard tyres. Plenty of 2wd cars pass through this road on a regular basis...

I did about 50 crossings of the Condamine a couple of weeks ago on a weekend trip. The water level should be fine if there hasn't been heavy rain in the last few days. When we were there, it had rained quite heavily for a couple of days. We got water over the bonnet entering some of the crossings. Long crossing and Flaggy's crossing were above the wheel arches. However within a day it was back down to under the side steps or slightly over.

Your Grandtreks will be fine. All rocky bottom crossings and the dirt road is in pretty good conditions other than some pot holes. The drive through the gorge is very scenic and if you keep your eyes peeled you may even spot some Platypus in the river.

How did you go 57one and what were the water levels like? We've done it a couple of times, took the sister along in her Rav4 with standard road tyres, though the water was really low that trip. There are sections of the road that get greasy after rain for standard tyres.

Didnt end up getting out there, as kids stuff > dads stuff. So might try again in a few weeks.
