Darwin To ACT mid 2015

I am moving from Darwin to Sunny Canberra in the coming months (date TBC) for work. All things going to plan I am hoping I will be able to take 2-3 weeks for the drive so I thought I'd it would be the perfect chance to do a bit of exploring on the way. I haven't decided on any specific route at the moment so I would open it up to the forum to see what POI people know of. There is a chance that I will have to drive through Alice to pick up my better half who will be finishing up some work there at the time (unless we decide to fly her back to Darwin first pending route) Thoughs??

Sorry no thoughts on the trip except I'm jealous, but buy some thermals and jumpers, it's going to be a cold winter here.

Yep expecting the freezing cold!! I have had two years of just summer so kind of looking forward to getting seasons back.
