  • Anyone done two rocks to moore river recently?

Looking to use this run as a half day outing. Anyone done it recently that can report on conditions? Is there access to the bitumin at the north end if time runs short (toddler needs her nap or she gets as cranky as her mother)?

    Hey Wil
Haven't been through there for a while, but I did read in the local rag that they were going to close Dewers track due to misuse, vandalism, hooning, dumping rubbish etc etc. ( which is the start of the track if you go in from Two Rocks) The council was to decide in mid Dec '15, but I have nothing saying if it actually has or not....

So I rang the city of Wanneroo and have been advised that they are officially closing it on the 15th of Jan '16. But never fear there is the main limestone track from Wanneroo road called Wilbinga rd which is just north of Military rd. Its a good track roughly in the middle of the whole Wilbinga 4wding area. I'd suggest a good look at Google Maps/Earth to get a rough idea of all the tracks etc. Have a great day out!

Dont know when yet, we are in clarkson so its not a big deal when we go, its just squeezing it in between all of lifes other commitments. Always keen for company, considering the picture is of my ute the last time i went.

Will probably aim for first sunday in fed (7th), but will do a quick reconissonse before hand to check the two rocks entrance.

Loose plan would be early start (say 6.30) at two rocks, drive all the way up to moore river and identify a spot to drop a line on the way, hit that spot for a quick fish on the way back, then home for lunch and an afternoon snooze.

Will post something on here if i make any traction with the plan.

Was up there last weekend. Sign at Two Rocks entrance said closed on 15th and also on today - tonight show as being closed.
Saw plenty bogged as well. Planned on having the lines in the water by 4 but after 2 knobs that got horribly stuck and the tide coming in it was 7.30 before we had a chance. Lucky the fridge was full.

3.5 hour recovery in sand is pretty epic!

Its pretty disappointing that the access has closed. I guess the only access now is wilbinga, and if you head too far south, then perhaps you may inadvertently end up in the prohibited area and open yourself up to a fine
