Northern NSW Explore DayTrip (Part-2)
Got a head start after a finishing work at 10pm and headed down to the Border to find a place off the road to roll out the swag and call it for the night. Early rise; quick coffee and it was back on the road to my 1st enter point - Toonumbar NP.... unfortunately I found the gate locked on my arrival..... bugger. Worked out a way around from the western side and set off to a suitable track. Unfortunately, unable to find another track to get me into the northern section, so headed further south turning east from Old Bonalbo and headed twds Upper Duck Creek, turning east and trying my luck to get back into Richmond Range NP. Finally reached Richmond Range NP, but the tracks hadn't been travelled for a LONG time and the further I went along the more the track became more a like a trail without any signs of vehicle tracks at all. Decision time came around with me deciding to turn around for a number of reasons - loosing time; chance of rain making travel difficult; & being by myself.... So, I decided to turn around & leave Exploring Richmond Range for another time and headed back out to Old Bonalbo, then sth and west and then north to check out Paddy's Flat River crossing then onto Clarence River Wilderness Retreat to check out whether it would be worth a return visit with the family.
Finally reached the wilderness park, but no one there at the office, so I had a look around b4 heading back out and sth to Tabulam and then west and then turned north up to Boonoo Boonoo River Crossing & out to the Hwy and then turning off to visit Undercliffe Falls as my final destination before it was time to make my way home the shortest direction I could, reaching home at 7pm.
Will post up some pics when time permits, but there is a link below that will take u to them anyhow......
