We asked about the condition of Billy Goats and the lady made it sound really scary (nowhere to stop once you start, people have rolled end-over-end down it, massive rock step at the top where you have to launch your car) though she did it admit it was 4 years or so since she'd been there. The actual track was a bit of an anti-climax after that - steep to be sure but lots of places to stop and not all that hard.

Most were fine, it was deep, but a quick dip.
I'm not sure how much more depth you can take before the water takes weight from the wheels too much.
I felt some scrabbling in places.
