I havent been up it yet, but I do believe wonnogatta track is somewhat challenging without the trailer - someone else will know more.
But your distances per day are a lot better over the tracks you have chosen, a lot of them will be pretty slow going - and you want to allow yourself enough time to get out and have a look at all the sights along the way.

      When are you going ?
Been a lot of rain in Gippsland, rivers will be running high.

Plus you wont be able to get on a fair amount of tracks as they close them between queens birthday & melbourne cup.

Everything is going to be bloody wet and rivers will be high for months after track opening this year too, they are having a bumper ski season and thats all gotta run off somewhere when it melts.....Hotham currently has over a meter of natural snow depth!!

Planning to do this in the second week of January. I might put this in the first post.

Day 1 - Mansfield to Bluff hut, approx 72km - via Mount stirling road, Circuit rd, Craigs Hut, Bindaree Falls, Bluff Link road. If Bluff Hut is full, we will continue on Bluff Hut track to Lovicks Hut.
Day 2 - Bluff Hut to Dargo, approx 90km - via King Billy Track, Howitt road, Zeka Spur track, Wonnongatta Track, Herne Spur Track, Cynthia Range track, Eaglevale track, Wonnongatta rd, Crooked River rd, Short Cut rd.
Day 3 - Dargo to Omeo, approx 111km - via Upper Dargo rd, Stock route track, Birregun rd, Dinner Plain track, Great Alpine rd
Day 4 - Omeo to Corryong, approx 146km - via Benambra to Corryong road.
Day 5 - Corryong to Jindabyne, approx 123km - via the Alpine way.

I'm hoping this is a more realistic trip allowing for some stops and taking in the scenery.

            Thanks
Day 2 will be on rough tracks & very slow, big day. The others days are good.

Agree, day 2 will be a very long one and not give much time to see anything.

2 days to do that would be nice. Camp in wonnangatta valley by the river.
                Split day 2.

Perhaps day 4&5 can be in one day.

Thanks heaps for the help and advice.

Is there an alternative route for day two that is an easier drive?

I just saw a video of Herne Spur track and wonnangatta track, Herne Spur is pretty steep, not sure coming down it with a trailer would be too fun, particularly if we come across people coming up, I'm just a bit spooked having the trailer with me. If there isn't, maybe doing day one and finishing back in Mansfield, then head to Dargo by road

Additionally, I will be changing the trailer hitch to something more suitable. I like the idea of the treg, but the thought of aligning it for hook up turns me off it as it would be quite fiddly. Thinking the Ozhitch might be the go.

Those are the tracks I was originally thinking to avoid. Considering, experience, no lift & trailer.
These no other way if you want to see the area. The alternative is the black top north from Mansfield.

                      Bugga!

Thanks for the advice, I will do a day trip around the circuit to see Craig's hut, then black top it up and around to Dargo.

Thanks again to all that helped, really appreciate it.
