"Kili" is one of our long time fishing spots. The outer reef keeps it quite calm inside the reef, ideal for small dinghy catching big skippy. Many late nights down there over many years.
Your pics of the track looked quite damp and accessible. Track can be a bit soft at end of Summer after being chewed up by Subarus and people with tight tyres.

Other good spots nearby, or bit further down the coast at Hamelin, Deepdene, Sinclairs Reef, etc. A couple of these really soft, and everything you ever learnt about tyre pressures and RPM is put to the test.

A tip from a local tho. Need to watch Furkids down that way, as the dog police are often about. Particularly Kili and Hamelin.

Yeah, I know - sorry ops: . I only found out about needing to go down there late on Friday afternoon. Chippy was online Friday night (surprise!) so I asked him if he knew of anywhere and he didn't, but I didn't have time to ask everyone else since we left first thing Sat morning. I did some googling and that's how we found the Peppie Grove run.

We are always very careful with the dogs and National Parks etc (I'm a biologist afterall...). We only found Kilcarnup because it shows on our map (and GPS) as being outside the national park - seems to run alongside it - and so we headed there to see what it was like. There were certainly no signs saying it was NP like there are just a few km further north. I hope that's right! Last time I sampled at Canal Rocks, but had left the dogs at home then.

I can imagine the tracks getting seriously chewed. In fact the ruts were so deep, I reckon a Prado with standard suspension would have dragged it's belly in the sand, let alone a subaru!

Kilcarnup is a little section of Leeuwin Naturalist Ridge that comes under control of Augusta Margaret River Shire. I think it still does anyway. So its out of the Leeuwin Naturalist Park.
A bit further up the coast Im sure its back into the park, around Whalesback, Ellensbrook etc.

The Subarus actually do a pretty good job of grading the track into Kilcarnup, and people like me with trayback utes keep the vegetation trimmed for the Prados etc
