I'm heading from Canberra to Tweed Heads and going through Barrington tops on the way. Could any locals tell me if the way I have mapped is okay. I'm alone with my kid so would rather dodge anything really extreme. I'm in a 120 petrol with 2" lift and 32" BFG ATs, have winch and CB.and is my planned route missing any great landmarks or anything?

I just came back from spending the Easter weekend at Barrington Tops. The track you've highlighted running through the guts of the national park has been gated off, by the looks of it it has been that way for a while. There is still access on all sides of the park but most tracks don't go through anymore. Its a real pity.
We did a 14km return walk to Carey's Peak, which is via one of the old no longer used fire trails. took us about 4 hours.
The best option is to go in via Scone on Hunter Rd and Barrington Tops Forest Road. Heading East on Barrington Tops Forest Road the only open tracks to the south take you to Little Murray and Junction Pools camp areas. Both are nice to camp at.
If you want to have some fun check out the trails in the Barrington Tops state forest which is on the north side of Barrington Tops Forest Road, all the tracks are still open and range from easy to moderate. Most of the tracks are mostly dry with just enough mud to make the drive fun without being challenging.
Some of the tracks I did were Boundary Trail, N Branch Road, and Pheasant Creek Rd.
