This Australia day long weekend we went away up to 1770 and found some time for 4WD adventures along the way.
We drove up from Brisbane on Thursday night and stayed at the Sunshine coast overnight then left Friday morning to go the rest of the way. Lunch in Bundaberg then out to the southern entrance of Deepwater national park. Deepwater runs along the coast and has two campgrounds (Wreck Rock, Middle Rock) and one day use area (Flat Rock). The track leading to the national park was bitchumen then about 10km of dirt to the park entrance. The instructions on the NPSR page were accurate to get there https://www.npsr.qld.gov.au/parks/de...getting_around
The track was single track rutted sand all the way but not soft. Didn't end up using low range or the centre lock all the entire trip. The campgrounds were busy but not full so outside of a long weekend there would be little traffic. We stopped at Middle rock and went for a walk down on the beach.

The track comes out a few km from Agnes waters so we followed it along to get the keys to our cabin for the weekend. Agnes waters is quiet town with lots of holiday units and campervans. There is a foodworks for groceries and few resturants and a servo.
On Saturday we head out to Eurimbula National park which is 10km out of Agnes water. After turning off the main road the track is rocky gravel and the breaks into heavy corrugations. There is Eurimbula Creek camp ground and Middle Creek campground. We went out to Eurimbula campground first which is the closer of the two. It was corrugated dirt most of the way and then broke into rainforest about 5km from the campsite. Then it was windy singletrack sand with a few small roots but not soft at all. This campground was really nice, perched on an inlet there was a great place to swim. We pulled up and put the awning out for a few hours.

After packing up we backtracked to the fork and went to Middle Creek campground. This campground was not as nice as Eurimbula Creek as it had only a small sand beach but does have boat ramp. Again the track was rocky gravel most of the way before single track rainforest leading up to the ocean. Following that short stop we headed back out to the main road and back home.
These two National parks were very accessible to 1770 and nice to visist. The drive from Brisbane was a bit long for a weekend after covering 1100km in total.
