Damo, we will be coming from Stockton on sunday morning, but Im still dead keen, just have to finish 1-2 things on the truck, but will be there, maybe coming with Paul in his Blue Hilux.

Is the tracks easy enough to get an X-trail into the general area??

              Cheers,
              Joel

                  sorry for the late reply.
yes x-trail could do this, and skip the more rutted bits all good.

we had a absolute ball today.
lucky we didn't have many vehicles or x-trails.
we found some mud and deep waterholes.
                        sorry for no pics.
i forgot our camera, but the others got plenty of pics.
                        the disappointment occurred after lunch.
had lunch on the foreshore of lake macquaire, and when we
attempted to leave, steve alternator light was on (90's V6).
after trying to flush alternator, and check for loose wires,
voltage was still 12v at the alternator.
needless to see steve had to leave as he had a 1.5 to 2hr drive back home, using minimal voltage doing so.
hope you got home ok steve, and before night fall.
as for the remaining souls, we found a deep prado swallowing hole, ha big fella.
lucky the nose of the car was out so no one got wet attaching shackles on.
we all had a good time and the rigs are now very dirty.
                        thanks to those that made the trip;

                          Matt, Matt, Matt,

Thankyou for your witty comments they are so noted for next time we meet. And yes I do need a suspension lift, but as you are aware when you carry lots of gear (ie. kids and stuff) your bottom end does tend to get a little droopy. I like to think of it as grading the road for all those that follow me so that they may have an enjoyable trip. It just happens to be the first time ever that I have needed to be recovered in 6 years of 4wd ownership, so i've done allright thus far. I miss my Hilux!

Some trip photos are coming tonight but my camera developed a slight blue tinge to it. New camera and still trying to figure out how to drive it, and as a male I have not read the destruction manual. so I had better do it real soon.
                          Regards,

                          Big Fella

The suspension is the first thing on the "to do list" when we get home from overseas in January. That trip is the only reason we don't have suspension yet. Anyway, thanks heaps for a great trip today Damo and Nat. We had such a great time and it was really good to meet some more people from pradopoint.

Matt, if Andrew had listened to me in the first place , I doubt we would have had to be recovered  . But anyway, there is always a first time for everything and the kids thought it was heaps of fun  ! I'm really glad there is a bash plate under the car  .

                              Come on.....
You will have to wait for someone else to post those, if there are any left (I think I bought all the cameras ). I don't have any because as YOU would understand there is no point in getting out of a sinking Prado and getting wet. The kids thought that the exhaust being under water and burbling away was the funniest thing ever as I am sure you do too Matt!

Yes I would like to see the photos so I can see if I need to buy them and have them taken off the web.

What must also be said is that my wife Lacey has a major lead foot problem. You will see shortly a photo from the trip with some rather wet people. This was from Lacey going through a mud hole at terminal velocity (we think that Damo had a lot to do with it) and giving us a muddy shower, me included (also got wet from Steve on the previous hole but not as bad) from waist to toes. She said she felt bad and was sorry but she was laughing alot at the same time. Rule #1 never take photos of your wife driving through mud holes, have her hold the camera and you drive!

Photos are still uploading, be up soon (sans bogged)
                              Regards,

As promised here are some photos of the trip

                                The crew

                                Damo through the mud

                                Ninpo through the mud

                                Steve through the mud

                                Thats me

                                Damo again

                                Steve

                                Big Fella

The wet ladies and me the photographer (soaking) Thanks Lacey

                                Lunch stop

                                Damo down some steps

                                Ninpo down the same steps

Ninpo through that hole where someone decided to stop for a rest ops:

Some tops 90's flex from Ninpo (same spot someone else got hung-up in a silver car and forgot they had a diff locker ops: )

It's a shame that Steve and Kelly had to leave due to electrical gremlins. We spoke to them when we had finished the days drive and they had made it home safely and Steve was in the process of taking a closer look at the altenator.
                                Regards,

                                Big Fella
