  • TRIP REPORT : Fraser August 2008

Well i have spent 4 days at Fraser with a few old Jeep buddies, i thought i would post a few pics.
Given we were their last year we haven't taken too many photo's.
Day one was getting up their and setting up camp.

    Home sweet home.

Day two was a big run up to the top end.

Jeeps on the run, lights on.

    Checking out Nygala rocks.

We went through any how and had to get over plenty of rocks on the way.

    My favorite action shot.

    Flexin it.

A jeep line up at the top.

For the first time in four trips we managed to get to the lighthouse.

One of the jeeps on the way home didn't follow my tracks and decided to go their way, bad mistake. It sunk quicker than the titanic.
Four maxtrac's and good snatch and it was out.

    Some of the locals.

Day three we went to central station, lake mackenzie, eli and the maheno.

    Poser.

    Eli creek.

The four days went way to quick, anyhow back their again next March.

Good write up Hutch - weather looked perfect. Very jealous although going to Hamilton Island on Thursday for R'n'R

What type of camper trailer do you have?
Silver 2005 GXL Prado, Petrol, auto, gold plated rated recovery points, 60ltr Waeco, Vacation Camper, Gunyah side shade, 265/65 17R Pirelli Scorpian ATR tyres (x4) and 1 new Grand Crapper (spare), Max Air II plus still lots of recovery gear!! And PradoPoint sticker!!

Wish list - ARB steel bull bar, 2 inch lift, dual battery system, snorkel, milford cargo barrier, black widow rear draw system and rear lockers as well as new bash plates for the ones I have trashed. Oh and yes a 150!!!

Spender, it was an ABL rental camper( at Brendale), $260 for four days, picked up the day before dropped back the day after, so really 5 days.
The best thing was it rained when we packed up so everything was wet and i didn't have to worry about drying it out.

Yes it was, i tried initially to pull it out from the front but started myself to go down, so i got out of their and we had one of the jeeps behind pull it backwards, they were lucky it didn't end worse!!

all the jeeps were fairly highly modified, but i went everywhere they did and vice versa, i was leading so they had to follow. They are a good machine when lifted, i just couldn't keep taking mine back to the workshop for warranty work!!

No mate, no trips in 09 as we have just had another little tacker (14 weeks), but i reckon i will be going again in 2010. i will be having withdrawals by then.

Congrats on the new rug rat

You need to wangle a leave pass with the other kids (if applicable) but perhaps I am lucky having a wife who almost pushes me out the door to golf, fishing and 4x4. And yes she does have an identical twin sister - honestly!!!!
