  • Cairns - Black Mountain Road (7 Hills) - Fri 21st Nov

    When: Wed 19th November 2008
Where: Black Mountain Road/7 Hills/anywhere else that looks interesting

For anyone in Cairns that is interested, I am planning on going for a drive up Black Mountain Road with a couple of guys from work (an 80 Series and a LWB Jeep) and do a bit of exploring, maybe head up to 7 hills.

    Cheers,
    Kevin

I'd love to come along mate but unfortunately have to work.

You should head down the first left after you cross quaids road. Remember the one where we had to cut the tree to bits? If you veer right before you get to the farm house you can continue on through to jullaten. Then head back towards 7 hills on the highway and have a play in there. The only thing you will need to be careful of is the old log bridge crossing. The cars you take will need some clearance to get over it.

    Cheers,

Sorry no pic's, as there was just the two of us and we were having too much fun driving. We spent a couple of hours exploring the state forest tracks right at the start of Black Mountain Road, nothing too challenging. Then we headed up Quaids road and did some exploring of the track at the Mareeba end. It was Rob's first time taking his 80 off road so we took it pretty easy.

            Cheers,
            Kevin
