Well we finally pulled our finger out and organized a Victorian meetup
Two 95's ready to go

Myself and SLUG met a Avoca on the saturday morning and decided to go and find a camp site up in the Pyrenees State Forest. We travelled up the Sugarloaf and Schmidt track and then set up camp at the Waterfalls picnic area. After a quick setup (as quick as it gets with kids anyway) we headed up to the Old Bluff track and attempted to make our way to the 750m summit. About half way up the track split into 3 different directions with a mild, difficult and rock hopping option. After walking the track Slug said he would have a go at the difficult track, he got most of the way up until traction was lost on the red clay and rock ledge (28mm of rain fell on the friday night!!) Several more attempts where made with no success so we headed up the mild option and had a late lunch at the top of the hill where the 3 tracks rejoined. It was my turn to go in front and this is when the fun began  . About 2-300mtrs further up the track I encountered a nasty set of rock steps, after a look I decided to stick to the right hand side and try and find a line to get past. As I got the front wheel over the last ledge it lifted and the back wheel dropped into a hole and I could go no further. I tried a few times with the same result - the wife and kids then got out so I could have a bit more of a dip. Backing down a bit I was not looking to hard at the mirrors when the rear right went up a bank the same time the front left fell of a ledge and all of a sudden I had myself a 2.5t see-saw that was VERY close to flipping over backwards . After some quick thinking the missus jumped on the front wheel while Slug jammed rocks under the rear wheel that was in the air!! A couple of straps were attached to large tree to stop my Prado from going any further. A sit down and think about it was called for and then the shovel came out to try and lower the rear drivers side wheel. A bit of dirt removed and I drove forward with the safety of the straps to straighten up one very crossed up Prado. It was then decided (told) that we will not be going up that track and a few beverages were required back at camp .

The Prado see-saw

The sunday morning was a ripper, a bit of brekky and packup camp we were on our way up the Fraser track when we met up with the Exploroz crew. After a short break to have a chat with this friendly group of people we made it to the top. We then travelled down the Emery track into the small township of Glenpatrick and checked out the reserve were the Exploroz group where camping. This is a very nice looking spot with plenty of shady trees and a toilets.
We then headed up to Cameron Track Campground via the Nowhere/Spring creek roads and Cameron track. We found a nice little campgrond complete with shelter/fireplace and toilet. We headed back down and to the start of the track to air-up and say our goodbyes. It was a treat to meet another couple who enjoy getting out in their Prado and see some of the countryside. We will definitely be organizing more trips in the future
A few more photos.
