      Mick

Returned last weekend and still getting red dust out of car (See A/cond filter thread)

Went via Roxby Downs-Borefield Rd and up Oodnadatta Track to Oodnadatta- Roads pretty good (A lot better than 5 years ago)

Road from Hamilton to Dalhousie Springs - rough!!

Lost a day at Purni Bore (Mini Milo had gear box problems-another great story)

Went via Rig Road to make up time-WRONG - Rough

Shot up Erabena Track to French Line and on into Birdsville.

French Line was chopped up (Lumpy and bumpy as the girls said) and soft.

Numerous left turns at top of hills around soft tops then very sharp right hand at top then left again down chopped up eastern side.

Make sure your group has sand flags, UHF Ch10 and scan other channels as there was quite a lot of traffic going east to west.

Some detours still around Eyer Creek but nothing too long.

Returned via Cordillo Downs- Innamincka. Qld roads great- SA side very average. Took old Strzelecki Track out of Innamincka which was quite good but dusty.

Of 8 cars only problem 1 day Mini Milo- No punctures and all made it up Big Red- My Prado breezed it

      Tyre pressure - BF Goodrich A/Ts 28psi tracks-24psi sand-20psi Big Red (2 people)

Have a great and safe trip

      Regards Nick

        Good luck Mick.

I returned tonight. The crossing was pretty straight forward. We did French Line to Colsons. Down to WAA to Erabena then Rig Road to Knolls and up to French again. To get there we went to Marree and then along the Oodnadatta which was in pretty good nick. Leaving Hamilton Station we went to Dalhoiuse and took the short cut from Dalhoiuse to Mount Dare. Avoid this track because it is littered with rocks the size of soccer balls.
