First trip this weekend!

Well, I am taking her out for her (and my) first off road trip this weekend. We're all a bit nervous, so have invited a mate along to show us the ropes ... as it were.

Fingers crossed all goes well. A weekend camping and four wheel driving around Kanangra Falls with the pregnant missus and twin 2 year old boys in the rain should be enough to get us in trouble...

Will hopefully get some shots posted when we get back.

Make sure to do the trail upto Dingo Del thru the Boyd National Park. There are a couple of water crossings too 8) 8)

Well we made it back safe and sound. The twins had a great time - first time out camping for them. The missus is ... still pregnant, so that's a good thing. The car made it back in one piece. Got my first water crossing and recovery out of the way. Thankfully, the recovery wasn't on the first water crossing... AND I did manage to get the new sticker dirty!!

Learnt a lot too, thanks to a good mate who's a bl00dy good teacher (Thanks Jeff!) - including:
[*] Know your car's height, width and clearance underneath. [*] Stop procrastinating and go and get those recovery points put on!!! It's funny how you'll happily pay the money to get them when you're stuck in the mud and have to rely on the tie down's to get you out!!! (they did the job btw, but we weren't really stuck that badly - just needed some grip to climb out of a muddy creek)[*] The standard tyres [make/model to come] that come with the car are useless in the mud[*] A car can easily roll if you don't know what you're doing ... (more from discussions, than practical experience thankfully)

More to come including photos. It won't compare to some of the other stuff, but hey, you gotta start somewhere right?
