  • TRIP REPORT : Landcruiser Park Sun 5 April **Lots of pics**

    Hi All,

Today we had an awesome day roaming around landcruiser park. The day started at the BP service centre at Morayfield where we met with wengnuts and josh. There was 1 prado, 1 suzuki and 1 pajero. After signing in we ventured along the track until we came to a decent looking track called Telecom Hill. This track was very steep and slippery hence not being able to make it to the top. We continued on looking around and came across the pig pen. It was time to play and get down and dirty. Lots of mud puddles and some wheel ruts. Got some great shots of the vehicles traversing some of these deep wheel ruts. After this we had some lunch and then ventured off again on a different track. Came across come water crossings and then a bit of a climb up the next hill and then a steep decent down the other side. After conquering some great tracks we made the decision about 5.00 to head for home.

All in all it was one fantastic day that was had by all.

    Thanks Wengnuts and Josh!

      Thanks Jane and Brian.

It was a fantastic day out. It was very overcast when I left home this morning to meet up with the rest of the group. Bad weather and light showers continue along Woodford and into Jimna. When we arrived at the park, it was all cleared but the tracks were very slippery. The rest is history.

Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures as I was leading most of the way. However Jane recorded several short videos of some rutted tracks.

thanks again to everyone who attended.

here are a few with more to come later.

      At the office...at landcruiser park.

BJ7475 first attempt at Telecom Hill after watching the Suzuki unsuccessful attempts but it did advance the furthest up the track.

      Josh attempt at Telecom Hill.

Driving down the first tier of Telecom Hill.

At end of Tarago Trail "Cowha Falls" lookout.

Having lunch at GUM camp ground.

      BJ7475 exited pig pen.

Water crossing on one of many flooded creeks.

      traversing along Kings Road.

Some pictures of the rutted track. BJ7475 took short video of the drive but we only have the stills for now.

scraping and sliding down Telecom Hill backwards and flatting the ruts.

Had a good old go at Telecom Hill I see... I gather no one tried the other side

What tyres were people running? AT's I'm guessing. LCMP turns into an ice skating rink when it rains 8)

Yes, but it was very washed out and slippery with several deep ruts similar to Club Rally Circuit. A set of mud terrain tires would have made the differences.

The pajero had all terrain. The other two only highway threads.

Pity you couldn't come along. It would be a good opportunity to test out the locker. By the way, there is a new four wheel drive park opening in Easter near beaudesert. It's not Cityview, it's called Scenic Rim Adventure Park. We should check it out later in the year before organising another PP day out.

I feel the pain of the HT guys... or should that be excitement 8) I was on worn tyres the first time it rained on me at LCMP and the car went anywhere but where you pointed it

Sounds good re checking out the new park... give me a month or so and I should be able to get a day pass ops:
Still haven't really used the locker... better rectify that sooner rather than later
