  • TRIP REPORT : Brisbane - Mt Mee - Sat May 2

Not sure if my PM to Wengnuts worked..if so Kel..please disregard. I trust i have posted this correctly?

A couple of friends have asked me to join them for a drive to the Gantry at Mt Mee on Saturday.

Meet: 9.30am at the Bakery at Dayboro

Attendees: Rodeo T/C and New Patrol, myself and any other PP érs interested.

Schedule: Leisurely drive up A-Break to the gantry. BBQ (BYO) lunch and then hopefully a drive on some of the tracks in the afternoon. Personally havnt been on any of the tracks other than A-Break up to the gantry from the south, so if any PP érs feel inclined to come along and show us some of the "afternoon" tracks.. that would be appreciated.

That sounds great Rick. I'm almost a starter and will confirm later. I've been wanting to do Mt Mee for a long time. This trip, I'll do it with standard suspension; next trip will be with OME Nitrocharger Shocks. I'll be very keen to compare.

    Cheers,
    LFaR.

Very interested, on the other hand an offshore fishing trip was mentioned......hmmmm what to do???
I'll know by lunchtime whether I'm fishing or not. How long does it take to get to Dayboro bakery from your place Rick?

          Cheers,

Re: Brisbane - Mt Mee - Sat May 2

Beautiful one day, perfect the next!

We met at the Dayboro Bakery. We also had a Hilux and Patrol travelling with us.

Masso was into some early action, enjoying the benefits of good rampover...

On the first attempt, Wags got a little hooked up. Masso and Wags discuss a differnt line:

                A little water crossing...

I wonder how many recognise this hill... "Diff-break Hill". It's been completely blocked off now.

                Where are we????

Wags likes his map more because it comes with pictures

This hill is much steeper than the photos look...

The nice grassy day-area was overrun with families on this fine day, so we found our own nice little day-break area amongst the quarry rocks

And the family photo after a great day out!

                LFaR.

Great stuff guys... pity it didn't rain today, always makes the tracks a little bit more interesting.

Maybe in a month or two Hutch and I will be able to get a day pass ops:

It was interesting enough for me. Great day out with great company. I nearly s*** myself when I misjudged (yet) another line. I thought I was going to forward roll the Prado.   Unfortunately Rick wasn't quick enough with the camera.....or maybe I was too quick on wanting to go forward.....(I think the 2nd statement more true)

I arrived home late last night, so I'm downloading photos this morning.

                      Thanks guys.

Hi Guys.... thanks for the company..just a pity i missed pointing the camera at Wags sensational rear wheel lift! (Need to practice firing off shots as i dive into the scrub! ) We did the south track to the Gantry, but wandered around north of the gantry and didnt really find anything of interest. (except for one suicidal track...with no tyre marks not suprisingly!) .Maybe next trip one of the tour guides with knowledge of the "afternoon"trails will join us for an even better day. Great company as usual, and look forward to the next one.
                        Rick

For those of you wondering why Rick was diving into the scrub....I didn't try to run him over.... Rick - point and shoot (the camera) - the sports mode is brilliant.
