  • TRIP REPORT - Sydney Riverstone - 3/5/09

Decided to take the wife out on her maiden 4wd drive. Riverstone is close to Sydney and the track fairly small but packs a punch if you want a challenge. I took her through ruts, mud, bogholes and rocky bits and she did a superb job. The only two issues we had was in the boghole where she lost traction and in the first rut, on both occasions I had to drive it out.
It was a great day for her and the kids and although she was a little hesitant at first  , she hasn't stopped talking about it since we got home.
Oh, and the best part - she now acknowledges that we need a lift and good tyres!! yes dear, indeed!

Take a look at the awesome pics.

    Cheers
    Andy

Nice work Andy, that TJM bar is really starting to grow on me.

Great Pics Andy. Looks like a great day out!

I've been trying to convince my better half to have a go in the bush... (easy now, you know what I mean ), alas it's beach only so far.

Looks like your rear-end is totally stuck in that bog hole. Did you manage to drive out of that or were you towed?

Great stuff. Always good to see the other halves out giving it a go. Where abouts in Rivo is it and who owns the land.

I managed to drive it out, actually learnt a new technique in the process.

It's about 5 minutes from the station - I have GPS coordinates if interested. Not sure who owns it - it looks like a service track for powerlines, no signs preventing access, although it is fast becoming a dumping ground. I may suggest a clean up.

Must be a different Riverstone than I know which is near Quakers Hill? Rivo was always a rough place where one would be avised not to park you car for too long lest you are not fond of it.

Mav, I have never had a problem around there. I guess I have never parked the car there and left it unattended either.
