  • PP'er Meet & Greet, 19 Jun. Brisbane.

    Mates,

As things have it I happen to have a few mates from different sources in Brisbane. LF&R from PP, Wayne (a Hummer guy) from ExPo, Brad from MAXTRAX, and a mutual friend from ARB. I'm meeting Brad for lunch and thought it would be nice to knock back a few with my mates afterwords.

Friday, 19, June @ 3:00 PM. at the 'Public Bar' inside the Brekky Creek Hotel.

As this being my first trip to Australia I wanted to meet some of you Queenslanders that are unable to make it to the GTG.

Please post up if you can make it and I will make sure I have enough Bruiser stickers for everyone.

    Thank you,

    -Ben

I had no idea you were arriving so soon Ben, when do you actually arrive in Brissy? I will be there on the 9th and 10th of June picking up the new (secondhand) camper and driving back on the 11th to Alice Springs.

Re: PP'er Meet & Greet, 19 Jun. Brisbane.

I arrive on the 18th. I thought it was better to have a few day's on the front side of the Simpson crossing so I can get anything I'm missing.

I also have a lot to do and see.

Test drive a LR Defender 110,
Lighten my wallet at an ARB store,
test all your OZ beers starting from light to dark and double check for consistency,
      Meet with Brad from MAXTRAX,
Visit a Toyo dealership to check out a new Prado first hand,
Shop for an Akubra hat (Territory?)
Make sure the Sat. phone works,
      calibrate the SPOT messenger,
      Shop for food W/ LF&R,
      _____________,
      _____________,
      _____________, and
      _____________.

There is a lot to do, but sorry you can't make it. I guess we will have sit back at the Overlanders for one of those giant stubby's and some good tucker.

Your telling me. At $13,000 (US) to get it here and back I think I will settle with the rental Prado. Anyways it gives me some wheel time in one.

As for the beer. I think I will line them up from light to dark and have a nice OZ beer sampling.

3pm Friday arvo...hmmmm... I could be in this one. A couple of beers, then a hectic drive home with the hoards of people heading to the coast for the weekend. If the weather is good ~variable to 10knots, then I might be fishing. At this stage I'm in.

                          Cheers,
