looks like fun, i was coming down the bruce highway in the rain, looking at all the mud on the side tracks very tempted to take a detour!

Re: TRIP REPORT : SEQ Mt Mee Jan3

Was a great day out at short notice. Its been 6yrs since I visited the mountain.
The tracks were very dry and dusty. I was expecting some mud, but perhaps we weren't looking in the right places.

To answer Hutch's Question on who went?
There was myself (Stewy), LFaR, Masso and LFaR's brother in the pathfinder.

        Cheers
        Stewy

Looks like a beautiful part of this country.

Nice pics BTW, it's a shame the Nissan Pathy had to ruin them :P

Bummed I couldn't get to this trip... thanks for the call BTW. (I was waiting for a thread as I couldn't hear the name of who called and the msg was very crackly The number didn't show up as a missed call as the phone was out of range when you called)... so long story short, I wasn't meaning to ignore you
I got in late Saturday night from a run up to Rainbow Beach with some photography peoples

Looks like a great trip... I'm surprised there wasn't any mud  I gather you made it out b4 the rain hit because I was watching the radar and it passed straight over Mt Mee.

Hutch... give me a couple of weeks and I'll be up for a drive.
The fuel budget took a bit of a hiding last week... 2 day trip out on the FIL's boat and a trip to Rainbow
                  Cheers, Leon

No worries Leon, it was me who called.

It was actually on Fri when my brother mentioned he had a need to test his Pathy. It was Sat before I thought maybe others would like to join in too. I was thinking it was too late for a thread, but in retrospect I could've and should've.

The tracks were recently graded, so despite letting our tyre pressure down, it was smooth forest driving with just a few steeps.

Re the storm... I was scanning the UHF and on channel 8 a "severe thunderstorm alert" was made at 9:55am and repeated every 10 mins or so. By about 11am, we all thought we were going to cop it: deep dark-grey skies, sudden temperature drop, gale-force winds... then by around midday when we stopped for lunch, it had all disappeared.

Here's the Mt Mee Trip Log on Google Maps.

A big thanks to Rick for taking so many pics along the way!

                    Cheers,
                    LFaR.
