Re: Sat Feb 27 : WA Beach run south of Mandurah

Damn, the 27th is my last night shift then I'm on break... Might have a bit more of a chance to attend something soon as I have snatched it from the FIFO environment and am now working in Perth but still on an even time roster.

Ok Chippy, you made me go searching for the reason behind you not having a car?
I found out that you have a temperamental problem.
She refuses to start once you remove her key. Maybe she heard you talking about updating her with a diesel and you have upset her:

Good luck with finding out the problem as it sounds expensive.( maybe ECU Problem).

I'm considering about 4 different games to be had on the beach.
Can anyone think of car games we could play.
            1. Egg and spoon. I’ll bring the eggs.
            2. A reversing completion.
            3. Closest to the marker braking completion.
            4. ???

We will be heading down around the Pemberton / Wapole area for the long weekend - Probably staying in the Shannon National Park. If people are interested this could be good base for a day trip to the Yeagerup / Callcup Dunes.

                      Hi Leachy
We are interested, when would you be heading off? As we would look at leaving crack of dawn Saturday. Any details on the camping areas?
                      Cheers Russ and Jen

                        Hi all,

Yes we have all been quiet lately.

put us down for the 27th

                        kev suggested;
                        *acceleration game
*bog your car the best comp (kill two birds with one stone - have fun! & practice our recovery skills)

we would be interested in a camping trip but we don't own the gear. :-( just starting out collection you see.

                          Hi Russ,

We haven’t been to Shannon national park before but it looks like a good central location with what sounds like pretty good facilites, here is the link to the DSC site:

                          http://www.dec.wa.gov.au/component/o...1/Itemid,1584/

Also, here is a description of the camp facilities from another website:

500m off the west side of the South Western Highway, just south of the turnoff to Northcliffe. About 50 kms north-west of Walpole. Suitable for caravans. National park entry fee applies. Host on site or Ranger will call to collect fee ($10). Picnic table and fireplace with hotplate to each site. Firewood supplied. Flush toilet and hot shower (wood fuelled, so plan your shower) - 1 shower each in men's and ladies, 1 toilet each, plus disabled room. Some sites are sloped. There are 2 camping areas - the amenities are at the second one (more shade), so it's a 150 metre walk (along an unmarked, unlit path at night) if you stay at the first camp area.
Campground Rating 4: Flush toilets and the ability to have a hot shower. Good for a couple of nights stay.

We have Friday the 26th off as well so we will probably head down on the Thursday evening. I have no idea how busy it may be but we should be there before most long weekenders would arrive – we have plenty of spare space and could take your tent(s) down and set them up so that you have a spot.

Ok just to set the details correct for less confusion.
BUGGER, ops: I ’m sorry I didn’t realize it was a long week-end on the 27th Feb and was also looking forward to do a camping trip somewhere.
Long weekends are normally set aside for such trips.
I don't mind organising the white hills trip another date unless someone else still wants to run with it.

27th Feb :camping weekend to Shannon national park area.

                              Open to anyone.
You will have to bring your own camping gear and food, as we are all self-sufficient.
We normally bush camp and explore during the day.

                              Further details to follow

Either the beach run or l/w-end trip to walpole are now out for me - working by looks of it

Plus small issue that somebodyelse has decided to take the engel for that weekend too

Hopefully the beach run will be addressed sooner than later - at least I know the suspension will be fitted up by then
2008 GX turbo diesel auto 5sp Fitted: snorkel dual battery kit kaymar twin wheel carrier Evenutally fitted: Bullbar VHF & UHF radios, storage system Still to come: winning lotto number to pay the blessed thing off set of decent side steps/rock sliders

Too many projects so little time and even less money
