Re: TRIP REPORT (pg.3) - WA : Harvey Dam day trip

Thanks for the day out guys.

Finished cleaning the outside of the car, changed the inside back over to a 8 seater daycare car,
I thought it would be cool for the kids to be picked up in a two tone white /brown Prado but Linda thought otherwise.
It was a night time wash, so tomorrows morning light might show up a few surprises..

Peer pressure, I mean Pradopoint pressure drove Chippy into a impossibly deep impassable bog... very funny. But the recovery was just as much a specticle... Top stuff.

        Jeff.
Reminds me of my safari in Africa. Somebody forgot the corkscrew and for several days we had to live on nothing but food and water.

Looks like a fun day out.

That hilift mounted to the top hoop of the Jeep bar could end it tears though.

It was a fun day out all - Cheers for organizing it Chippy.

Now to build up the lawn by another inch or so of mud blasted off the under
                side of the cruiser.

Some nice pics also Chippy. Thank Jen for the video (audio really?) clip Leachy.

Looks like a great day out , I am jealous . I had to end up driving to Meekathara to pick up a broken truck got just out of New Norcia at about 4.30am and was told that the truck I was to pick up was fixed and on its way back . So I got home started to load the Prado up and the Mrs asked where I was going I said going to Harvey Dam for a play , she said I told her the night before she could use it , bloody booze I dont recall saying that .

It looked totally different from outside the cab of my 79 series. All I could see behind me was the rooster tails I was throwing towards Leachy. It got chippy out OK, but but we forgot to have somebody tell us to stop sooner.

It wasn't big at all. Basically a small creek with very soft muddy banks. Chippy drove in and sunk down pretty much straight away.

Wow, what a great day. I had an absolutely awesome time and it was great to finally meet you all. As the day went on, the shopping list just got longer and longer thanks to all the helpful suggestions... I do appreciate the patience of everyone as I ground my way over obstacle or tried to get up various muddy hills with the "slicks" working overtime. Special thanks to Ray and Steve for the odd tow here and there.

A couple of my photos from the day...

                              The obligatory line-up

The photo suspiciously missing from Chippy's collection

Russ "helping out" with the rescue of Chippy

Already looking forward to a shopping expedition...open to further suggestions

                              Cheers

4.5L V8 Turbo Diesel, 3" Exhaust, DPChip, Twin Lockers, Loud pedal down a bit = Fun.

It's the exhaust that gives most of the sound though - basically 3" straight through with only
a small 'hotdog' type resonator - no DPF's or mufflers. I didn't even get over 3000rpm. But hey,
I enjoy the sound when it's on song myself. The best bit is, when regular cruising/highway runs,
it's just a low burble that doesn't drone or annoy me.

And who are you calling old, lol.
